Currently only those who have passed their test can drive on a motorway, but in 2015 the Department for Transport said it would consider a law change.
According to Transport Secretary Chris Grayling it’s thought motorway lessons will make UK roads safer by allowing learners to develop a practical understanding of how to use motorways safely before driving independently.
